John Waters is a native of the city and knows how to show the truly charming side of the city, as he did in movies like Cry Baby and the original Hairspray. A number of televisions series have focused on the grittier side of Charm City, as they did in Homicide and The Wire. Those watching these shows may be intimidated by the harsh side of the city, but it is important to understand there are two sides of Charm City and both are equally interesting.
